What is included in a No Gap Check-up and Clean?
A No Gap* check-up and clean includes;
- Examination
- Scale
- Clean
- Fluoride treatment
- Diagnostic X-Rays where clinically required
*‘No gap’ means there are no out-of-pocket costs on a selected range of dental treatments (as long as your annual dental limit has not been used). Preventative dental covers consultation, scale & clean, X-rays and fluoride as part of a check-up and clean package only. Excludes treatment-only appointments.
How many No Gap check-up and cleans am I entitled to?
If you hold Extras cover with RBHS you can receive up to 2 No Gap check-up and cleans per year.
What savings will I receive?
Smile providers agree to charge RBHS Members a maximum fee for over 60 of the most common dental treatments. For all other treatments, Smile providers charge RBHS members at least 15% off their usual practice fees
This means that the percentage discount will vary by provider, but ranges between 15-40%. This may not appear on your receipt as a % discount, but the provider will be able to confirm for you that you have been charged at 'Smile' rates.
How do I receive the savings?
Present your physical or digital membership card when you arrive for your appointment to identify yourself as a RBHS member.
By doing this, the dentist’s billing system will automatically reduce your fees. The claim will then be automatically processed when your Peoplecare membership card is swiped through HICAPS.

How can I tell what I'll pay if I visit a network dentist?
If you visit a network dentist, you'll receive a minimum of 15%–40% off their usual treatment fee. The percentage saving on treatments will depend on the practice's regular fees.
Before proceeding with any treatment, you can ask your dentist to provide a quote.
