How to make an extras claim
Most extras claims are simple. Swipe your RBHS card and you are done. However, there are some circumstances where you need to send us your claim:
- You forgot your membership card when you used an extras service; or
- Your provider does not have a HICAPS (swipe card) system; or
- We need to process your claim manually for some other reason (see "Can I swipe my card to claim?" below for details)
For the instances above, we recommend you use the new RBHS app for the fastest turnaround. You can download the app here or by visiting the App Store or Google Play and searching for ‘RBHS’.
How to claim with the RBHS app
If you cannot use your RBHS card, follow these steps.
First, make sure you have a receipt with the following details on it:
- Patient’s name
- Provider’s name and number
- Date of service
- Service provided
- Amount paid
Once you have the receipt with all those details, submit your claim via the RBHS app. Simply open the app, navigate to “Claims”, upload or take a photo of your receipt, complete the details of your claim and submit.

Complete, scan and send your completed RBHS claim form along with your receipts to firstname.lastname@example.org. Claim forms are available here.
Post your receipts and claim form to us, addressed to;
RBHS, Locked Bag 23, Wollongong NSW 2500.

Can I swipe my card to claim?
No in the table above means that these claims need to be claimed manually either via the RBHS app, email claims or by post as explained above.
